SINTEXMATTRESS®

The textile mould used to combat erosion

A textile mould consisting of two high tenacity woven polyester sheets connected to one another internally. The mattress is filled with a cement mix or with bentonite.
SINTEXMATTRESS products are designed to check erosion, and available in two types, differing in terms of the method by which the sheets are connected internally. Depending on design requirements, the product can be supplied with thicknesses from 10 to 33 cm, in rolls of 3.75 or 5.3 m width and variable length.
SINTEXMATTRESS can be used as a protective blanket for checking erosion and stabilizing river or canal banks and escarpments,
also as a protective covering and ballast for underwater pipelines, or as a disposable mould filled with cement mortar, for any kind of underwater repair or maintenance work.

Why choose SINTEXMATTRESS®

Geomattresses provide a reliable method of limiting bank erosion, especially in situations where this process has a particularly damaging effect on structures (e.g. port quays).
They are quick to install, and have significant advantages over traditional solutions utilizing concrete.
Woven polyester sheets afford a high level of strength, able to withstand the pressure that accompanies the injection of concrete into the void, so that there will be no damage or rupture when filled.
