In accordance with regulations on hydraulic invariance imposed by the Lombardy regional authority, the creation of a new car park (200 m2 approx) for local residents had to include the provision of a drain affording at least 50 m3 capacity. The critical aspect here was the final delivery height of the drain, which would be somewhat shallow relative to the road surface. The solution proposed by Geosintex was to use a single layer of ECOBLOC Inspect Flex modules, so as to maximize the horizontal surface area (around 13 parking spaces), while minimizing the depth measurement of the installation. Given the high strength of the module, with a covering just 40 cm deep and no need for a concrete slab, it was possible both to support the weight of the vehicles and ensure that water would run off naturally into the existing sewers.
