The reinforcing and separating geotextile
This is a woven geotextile made of polypropylene, colour black, affording high tensile strength (up to 200 kN/m) in combination with low elongation.
An especially effective product for improving the load-bearing capacity of soils with poor mechanical properties, especially in applications calling for a combination of separation and reinforcement.
GEODREN® W-PP is stabilized against UV rays and chemically inert to a wide range of substances, and consequently can be used even in contact with soils that may be particularly aggressive from the chemical standpoint.
The warp-and-weft structure creates an open weave with regularly spaced openings, giving the fabric appreciable permeability, which also renders it ideal for use as a filter.
Foundation reinforcement in a dockland traffic area
Since the woven material combines the function of separation and reinforcement, a single product can be used to fulfil both purposes. It is resistant to chemicals and can therefore be used even in chemically aggressive soils. It also has good permeability and is additionally able to function as a filtration layer. Deploying a woven geotextile, the depth of the foundations can be reduced, which means avoiding the need to use large quantities of aggregates, reducing the cost of the works and minimizing their environmental impact.
