Reinforcement and separation in both dry land and underwater applications
A woven geotextile manufactured from polyester, colour white, which offers high tensile strength (up to 1000 kN/m) in combination with limited elongation, around 10%.
With optimum performance in terms of low creep, this is a product ideally suited to soil reinforcement in applications typified by heavy stresses (e.g. railways or roads carrying high levels of traffic), and is able to combine the functions of separation and reinforcement.
Geodren W-PES also offers good chemical resistance and reasonable permeability. The product can also be used in underwater applications or in any event submerged even in shallow water, since polyester has a specific weight higher than that of water, which means that the fabric will always sink naturally and unaided.
Foundation reinforcement in an aircraft movement area
Laying a woven geotextile, the depth of the foundations can be reduced, which means avoiding the need to use large quantities of aggregates, reducing the cost of the works and minimizing their environmental impact.
Since the woven material combines the function of separation and reinforcement, a single product can be used to fulfil both purposes.
It can also be used even under a shallow head of water, as polyester is heavier than water and will remain submerged.
