The impervious surface of the new logistics hub set up by a chain of supermarkets was so extensive that measures were needed to ensure compliance with hydraulic invariance regulations, as imposed currently by the Veneto regional authority. Given the broad expanse of the loading/unloading areas and the need to limit the excavation depth due to issues connected with the water table and the height of the final receiver, it was decided to create a system of parallel ditches with INFILTRATION TUNNEL elements that would be shallow and cover a wide area. The package was designed by the Geosintex engineering department so as to minimize the depth of installation while also allowing the frequent passage of heavy vehicles, without jeopardizing the structural integrity of the tunnels.
